I love free things (does this surprise you at all? No, of course it doesn't). But isn't there always a dilemma when it's free things around the holiday?
Because then you think "should I spend this on myself or should I use it to get a gift for someone else?" Or, heck, with $75 of CSN credit, you could buy several Christmas gifts. Or, you know, several things for yourself.
Anyway, you can work out that problem on your own. For now, leave a comment (one per person, please) to be entered to win a $75 gift certificate to any CSN's 200+ stores.
And because I clearly am in all food-all the time mode, but can't afford to even think about any more dessert recipes, why don't you share a link for a main dish recipe?
I'll pick a winner from the comments on Saturday, Nov 13th and notify them (so please make sure there is a way to get a hold of you from your comment). Also, unfortunately, because of shipping issues, this is only open to US and Canadian residents.

We used this marinade to make carne asada the other night: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lisas-Favorite-Carne-Asada-Marinade/Detail.aspx
It was so yummy! We put the meat in small flour tortillas with home-made guacamole. Yum!
Ooh, ooh, pick me! Pick me!
I refer you to Kristi's blog for main dish recipes. I am not in a phase of life where I've been trying many new things. So anything I make is probably on there ;)
Hmmmm... main dish recipe? I had a ton of potatoes to use up last week and i made this
http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2009/06/crockpot-baked-potato-soup-recipe.html
it was super easy and yummy. instead of bacon i added mild italian sausage at the end. William ate tons of it!
Um, I pretty much don't cook currently... One of these days I'll get back on the bandwagon. But I pulled this out of my freezer last night and it was tasty with mashed potatoes. Naturally, I used mozzarella instead of swiss, because swiss cheese and I don't get along. Also, I made 2 8x8s instead of a 9x13, hence the one in my freezer.

ooh, this is so fun!!! i love giveaways!
this is not my recipe, but is delicious nonetheless:

I know that you and I both browse Britt's cooking blog, so I won't refer to any of her amazing recipes. I've been a sucker for butternut squash soup this season (which reminds me to use the two beauties sitting in my vegetable basket right now.)
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Spiced-Butternut-Squash-Soup/Detail.aspx (I leave out the cooking wine because, seriously, who really uses that stuff?)
Ohhhh, it would be so fun to shop with that $75! Thank you for doing this!
Free stuff is awesome.
We just had this for the first time the other night and it was much better than expected: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/garlicky_shrimp_vegetable_pasta.html
I haven't been cooking much, or adventurously, lately (exhibit A: last night I made tuna casserole, hardly an adventure). I need to get back into winter food.
I'd love to win, though!
I would like to enter:D Then you have the chance of giving your cool gift card to your loving sister:D

I would love to win!
We had lemon chicken for dinner tonight with garlic cous cous and cooked carrots. My recipe was slightly different than this link, but it looks pretty close. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/lemon-chicken-recipe/index.html
Awesome give away dude! Here's my link for Portabella burgers which I have been dying to make for months but I never remember to buy the mushrooms. Looks delicious though.

C'mon, mama needs a new mandolin cutter thingy!
As for a main dish, I believe you could refer to any single one of our millions of gchats and find a ton that I've shared with you. Although, to humor you and hopefully increase my chances of winning, I recently bookmarked this:

If I could I would eat these for breakfast, lunch, and tea!
This is one of my favorite soup recipes. Super easy and yummy.

Made this for dinner Sunday. Browned butter Pumpkin Mac and CHeese. http://brokeassgourmet.com/articles/brown-butter-pumpkin-mac-and-chees
It was delicious! Pretty easy too. Just had a yummy fall richness to it without being crazy cheesy.
Okay, I'm lame. I can't find the recipe I want to tell you about, but it's Rachel Ray's broccoli and lemon fritatta. It's delicious and takes about ten minutes to put together and ten (okay fifteen) minutes to bake!
Here you go. Best freezer meal ever. http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2008/03/honey-lime-enchiladas.html
I am lame and have no links to any recipes...I could pull anything off the net...but I wouldn't feel right telling you to cook something I haven't tried;) See...so I am just being a good friend. ha.
But thanks for hosting the giveaway...I would love to win!
Ok, so the cooking blog with my sister-in-laws never really took off, so when you go there, you will see that it needs a little love (ie, the background image can no longer be found and I have no motivation to go find another one right now). BUT, I'm sending you the link to a FABULOUS fall recipe I created last year that my husband drools about every time he thinks about it.
http://spottsandpans.blogspot.com/2009/10/stuffed-acorn-squash.html
Enjoy! (I'll enjoy the gift card when i win!)
She's absolutely right when she says that it's not a looker, but it's easy and delicious: http://thegirlwhoateeverything.blogspot.com/2010/05/easy-crockpot-fiesta-chicken.html
Thanks for the fun give-away contest! :)
Pick me!
I just wrote a whole blog post about what to make for dinner! Please see it at kristibassett.blogspot.com : )
Here's a recipe from the lovely Skinny Bovine:
http://skinnybovineskitchen.blogspot.com/2008/08/great-veggie-recipe-no-cream-pasta.html
It's a been made multiple times here, with a few tweaks when I don't have all of the ingredients!
Awesome giveaway- just in time for Christmas! Thanks!!!
Great idea of have everyone leave a recipe link in the comments - I'm definitely taking notes. I'll vouch for the honey lime enchilada recipe - it's one of my new favorites and freezes really well.
Cajun Chicken Pasta takes a bit of work, but it's worth it: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/04/cajun-chicken-pasta/
I love everything pumpkin, so butternut squash ravioli with pumpkin sauce is a must for me this time of year: http://mel-bel.blogspot.com/2007/10/share-wealth.html.
This chicken curry recipe is amazing and has been quite the crowd pleaser on several occasions.
Brown ½ onion-ish with oil and throw in chopped up chicken (2 chicken breasts- ish)
Throw in some curry powder.
Once that is cooked, add 3 medium-sized potatoes chopped, and 2 cans coconut milk, 4 golden curry blocks (golden curry) and soon after, add 4-5 peeled and chopped carrots. Let simmer/boil, covered. Add more curry powder as needed. Add salt and pepper. Once veggies are pretty soft, add 1-1 ½ green peppers (chopped). Let cook until green pepper is slightly soft. Serve over rice. (If becomes too thick, add some milk or water)
This is a recipe for Cafe Rio pork salad that makes life worth living. Just don't use the tortilla portion of the recipe, but everything else is like heaven.

I hope I win! It's sked379 at yahoo dot com.
I am a horrible cook, ask my husband! We eat a lot of beans, rice, and salsa mixes. I would love to eat the food Kath eats at Katheats.com.
If for some reason I end up winning, you can reach me at msi2525 at gmail dot com.
P.S. I love your blog!
Here is a recipe for an amazingly unhealthy but ridiculously delicious dinner:
http://funnelfullofsoup.blogspot.com/2009/02/ill-preface-this-entry-by-saying-i-know.html
This is one of the yummiest meals I have made recently. It's a salad so that means it's healthy- right? We didn't really like the dressing that went with it- very mayonnaisy, so we just used Ranch Dressing. Since you now know how to make Ranch from scratch, you must have a plethora of it hanging around your house, so you should be okay ;)
http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2010/07/southwestern-cobb-salad-with-green-goddess-dressing.html
I'm all for simple and nutritious.
This one's a winner:
http://muckamuck-muckamuck.blogspot.com/2010/08/fresh-mozzarella-tomato-and-basil.html
I promise not to buy the immersion blender.
:)
Hmm, a main dish. I am making this herb chicken and creamy orzo tomorrow for dinner, and it really is delicious. Not really holiday fare (like, big roast of meat or something), but you know, I am not in charge of that anyway. :)
This isn't exactly a main dish, but it's so yummy it deserves more credit than an appetizer.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Artichoke-Bruschetta/Detail.aspx
We love this Sweet Potato Soup(and you don't need an immersion blender or other special tools)!
http://mandeegrant.blogspot.com/2007/10/sweet-potato-soup.html
I just posted this Busy Day Roast Beef on my blog - it may be the easiest thing ever and is very good :)

My sister-in-law has a recipe for spinach enchiladas on her blog. At first, spinach enchiladas might not sound so great, but look at her picture. While I am not the world's biggest spinach fan, I really love these. Great flavor!

One of our favorite dinners: http://simplemoments126.blogspot.com/2010/07/pizza-its-whats-for-dinner.html
I wish I had more time to cook elaborate meals, but I am all about the quick and easy lately. Here is one of my favorite crock pot recipes: http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/recipes/main-courses/shredded-chicken-tacos/.
We made this braised beef stew the other night. The meat can be kind of pricey, but if you make the full recipe, it's at least 4 dinners for our little family of three. We've got some in the freezer as we speak. Mmmm.
http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/39915722/ns/today-foodwine/#
Oh, we also didn't use beer. We used malta--it's a yeasty drink from the ethnic section of our grocery store. Nasty, NASTY to drink, but in this recipe, I think it added a better taste than just substituting the beef broth would.
I love CSN, they have everything!
My husband loves any version of this recipe:

This would be great to finish my Christmas Shopping with.

So I feel a little (but not a lot) guilty entering since I won this giveaway on your budgeting blog... but I'm doing it anyway!
Um, and this recipe for sweet potato hash browns is my FAVORITE way to eat sweet potatoes. Not really what you're going to have on Thanksgiving... but very fall festive nonetheless.
http://www.crumblycookie.net/2009/10/30/sweet-potato-hash/
You should choose me, because I am sharing the link to my friend Natalie's cooking blog. She's got lots of main dishes on there, the most recent of which is a really yummy stew! http://kickinitinthekitchen.blogspot.com/
Hmm, presents and food - my favorite! I made a new recipe every week this year (almost) so it was hard to choose but I really liked this one:

I'm a huge fan of Food Network's 5 Ingredient Fix show--I have a special hatred for recipes that require 1/2 tsp. of random ingredients that I don't already have. I tried this one earier this week (except I substituted frozen breaded shrimp for the catfish bit and I made my own "cooked" aioli for the Remoulade Sauce as opposed to buying an aioli sauce in th store which I couldn't find) and loved it:

I made this last night and it was delicious!

And, I hope I win!
I'd love to win!!! Main dish recipe for beyond-awesome Chicken Salad here:

You may not like this main dish, but my son is a character. He brought home venison and I need to cook it. So I did Venison Stir Fry and darn it, it wasn't bad! Thanks for the giveaway. (I cooked it in the Stir Fry Pan I got at CSN!)http://helena-agalneedsatleast2blogs.blogspot.com/2010/10/my-review-of-one-infused-anodized-10.html
I make a variation on this all the time...with a packet of taco seasoning and a pound or two of ground beef it is THE BEST. Especially because there is very little cooking involved. Mostly cans folks...
